The automatic transmission is mainly composed of four modules: hydraulic torque converter, planetary gear mechanism, hydraulic control system, and electronic control system. The hydraulic torque converter is located at the forefront of the gearbox and serves as a "flexible clutch" - it transmits power through the fluid flow between the pump wheel, turbine wheel, and guide wheel, achieving a flexible connection between the engine and gearbox. It can amplify torque during start-up and cushion impact during gear shifting. The planetary gear mechanism is the power transmission core of the gearbox, consisting of a sun gear, planetary gears, and ring gears, which achieve different transmission ratios through different combinations. The hydraulic control system is responsible for providing and regulating oil pressure, driving the action of shift actuators. The electronic control system (TCU) precisely controls the on/off and opening of solenoid valves based on sensor signals such as vehicle speed, throttle opening, and engine speed, achieving intelligent gear shifting.
