For example, a fault code may directly point to a certain solenoid valve or speed sensor, but this is only a clue and not the final conclusion. Next is the basic inspection, which includes checking the level, color, and odor of the transmission oil. If the oil turns black, has a burnt smell, or is emulsified (due to water ingress), it indicates that there is severe wear or seal failure inside.
